Bathroom Renovation
We discovered a soft spot in the floor near the entry to the shower. After calling a local renovation contractor, we discovered the problem was severe. Apparently the vinyl shower pan had been nailed to the shower threshold. Water dripping off of the shower door leaked underneath the door's track, through the grout and through the nail holes in the shower pan. As a result, we have severe rot and black mold. Check it out:
As a result of the extensive damage we need to re-tile the floor. What type should we go with? Our top three choices are marble (which is on top of our existing tile), 1x2 pinwheels with either black or metal accent, and octagons with either black or grey accents

I like the third choice. Marble cracks and stains too easily and the pinwheel pieces are too small and might be able to come loose more easily.
