Bathroom Update

The rotten wood was extensive. After the contractor removed tile, subfloor, plumbing electrical box and a few floor joists we had a huge hole in floor. It was, perhaps, 5 ft by 8ft. Fortunately an architect friend of mine stopped by at 8am this morning to check on the job. He confirmed that the contractor seemed to be using appropriate means and methods and that the cost was in the right ballpark. I few photos of the progress:

Once the deconstruction concluded, the new subfloor was installed:

Bathroom Renovation

We discovered a soft spot in the floor near the entry to the shower. After calling a local renovation contractor, we discovered the problem was severe. Apparently the vinyl shower pan had been nailed to the shower threshold. Water dripping off of the shower door leaked underneath the door's track, through the grout and through the nail holes in the shower pan. As a result, we have severe rot and black mold. Check it out:

As a result of the extensive damage we need to re-tile the floor. What type should we go with? Our top three choices are marble (which is on top of our existing tile), 1x2 pinwheels with either black or metal accent, and octagons with either black or grey accents

Although I don't mention it in this video, we will be getting a new vanity:

1977 Argosy Airstream

I am considering obtaining the 28 foot 1977 Argosy Airstream Motorhome pictured below. I can get it for free if I fix it up and allow the donor to share in the proceeds of any sale when I am done using it. Alternatively, I can sell it and get half the proceeds. It is powered with a Chevy 454. The front portion of the cabin has a futon and 2 captian's chairs, then the kitchen (containing a sink, stove, oven, fridge, freezer, and blender), then a second set of 2 single beds, and then the bathroom (containing sink, crapper and shower). It also has a rooftop a/c. The onboard generator is missing, but it does have a tow hitch.
