Costa Rica - Day 6 - Selvatura Park

Selvatura Park was, by far, the most exciting part of the trip. We enjoyed a zip line tour of the cloud forest's canopy and then hiked on a series of trails and hanging bridges. The pictures do not do justice to the experience. It was simply spectacular!

Our guides and fellow tourists were so impressed with Abby's fearlessness and sense of adventure.

The best zip line was also the longest, at over a kilometer in length. It is shown below:

Next on our itinerary was a self-guided hike through the cloud forest and over the hanging bridges. As you can see, it rained during the entire hike, which made photography difficult, but our spirits were not dampened since we were in a rain forest. In fact, Evie found the entire experience to be relaxing:

Costa Rica - Day 7 - Monteverde Cloud Forest

On day 7, we enjoyed a guided hike through the Monteverde Cloud Forest reserve with Andy, who seemed to have endless knowledge about all thing related to the forest, including photography.

We even caught a glimpse of the rare quetzal in the distance:

We ended the hike by visiting a hummingbird garden.

Costa Rica - Day 8 - San Jose

On Day 8, we were back in San Jose. Since we had a few hours to spare before our flights home, we visited the gold museum, the national theater (opera house) and checked out some of the other sights downtown.
