ARGOSY!!!
Now is your chance to own a piece of
Americana - specifically, an Argosy - the aerodynamic motorhome with a proud Airstream pedigree. This recreational vehicle offers you 1970s "cutting edge" technological skills refined and improved by Airstream, the company that gave birth to the R.V. industry. As you might expect the Argosy inherits the proven Airstream concept . . . a lightweight, all-aluminum aerodynamic body mounted on a steel chassis. If you are searching for a motorhome of outstanding Value - then this Argosy was meant for you!!!!

It is almost all original, and even comes with the sales brochure. As you can see from the pictures, the carpeting has been replaced with laminate flooring, but the rest of the vehicle is truly a vintage time capsule. Therefore you can:

1. Keep it original;
2. Restore it;
3. Use it for camping, or tailgating at football games, races or other sporting events (we used it for U.S. Open golf tournament);
4. Use it as a vacation house, or private guest house (a la Clark Griswold in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation); or
5. Transform it to resemble the EM-50 Assault Vehicle from the movie Stripes.

The possibilities are endless because the Argosy motorhome was designed for everyday living, but it drives and responds with the same ease as your family's station wagon.

Inside is a complete kitchen - with a fridge, freezer, sink, stove, oven and even a blender. It also has a complete bathroom - with a sink, commode and shower. It also has comfortable beds, a roomy lounge and a dinette. And still, you can drive the Argosy almost anywhere with remarkable ease. Wherever you go, you'll go in authentic 1970's "comfort." And wherever you stop, you'll have "luxurious" 1970s era accommodations.

At 28 Feet long, this was Argosy's largest RV. It is powered by a Chevy 454 V8, which means you should have ample power to drive almost anywhere. It also has the optional Central Control Panel that lets you check on the condition of all utilities quickly - simply press a button and you can determine the amount of battery power on hand or the levels in the holding tank.

It is drivable, livable and lovable.
My loss is your gain.

The good:
Mostly original
Original Brochure and Receipts and records back to 1983
Classic Styling
New battery
Drove it today and put almost $10 worth of new gas in it

The bad:
No generator
Hasn't been used regularly for the past few years (the last major trip was from Michigan to North Carolina in 2004)
Probably would not drive it that far today without getting it checked by a mechanic first
Needs a good cleaning and some TLC

At this point you are probably convinced that this Argosy is in fact America's best motorhome value, And. You. Are. Right. Put it in your driveway now . . . and then enjoy the most life has to offer. Take it home today!!!

Please note that this Argosy is in fair condition for its age; however it is not perfect or even anywhere close to perfect. It has too many things about it that I love, and too many imperfections to list them all. Keep in mind that it is mostly original and is more than 30 years old. Plus, since it hasn't been used regularly in a few years, I don't even know all of the parts that work well, work poorly, or don't work at all.
