Abby visits Santa
Abby went from complete excitement (check out the video) to utter fear, as you can see in the pictures below (if you click on the photos, you'll get a better view of her facial expression).
Abby's First Trip to the Beach
My Grandmother, Bea, lives on Honeymoon Island, which has a State Park. As you can see from this satellite photo, it is a piece of paradise that is separated from the typical urban and suburban frustrations of life and has some of the best beaches in the world. Unfortunately the beach had some seaweed covering the white sand on the day we visited. However, some of my favorite childhood memories involve this beach and my Grandmother, and I thought it would be the perfect beach for Abby's first trip the the beach. Thanksgiving in Dunedin, FL
The first shot is my brother Tim, his girlfriend Jenny, and Abby. The second shot is my mom, Tim, Grandma, Abby and me. and the last photo shows us sitting down for the Thanksgiving feast.
Abby and her Great Grandparents
While in Dunedin, Florida for Thanksgiving, we took these photos of Abby with her Great Grandparents. We all had a wonderful time and it was nice for Julie's family and my family to "catch-up" with one another.
The Franken-Bimmer Survives VIR
After 10 months of hard work (and too much money), the track car made its debut at Virginia International Raceway ("VIR"). All-in-all the weekend was a success. I may post a video later, but for now, I'll just post some pictures and stories.
These photos are of my car, the #48 G-Money Racing BMW 325i. In true racing style, I need to thank my crew chief, Ted Lord, who helped with the suspension rebuild, and I need to thank Mats, age 6, and Anders, age 8, who have volunteered their time and skills to be the team's graphic designers and provide the G-Money Racing stickers on the car.
I went to the track with a friend from work, Randy, who drives a 2000 BMW 328ci. Unfortunately, on Saturday, I spun out and left the track while trying to negotiate turn 3, which you can see on the map. Luckily, I didn't hit anyone or anything. Randy spun out on turn 17a, and my instructor left the track near turn 10, so I wasn't alone.
The highlight of the weekend was on Sunday, when I earned my "solo" certification and drove without an instructor for the first time on-track.
